Fort Zumwalt
Education Foundation

Two main fundraising events have been established to help fund the efforts of the foundation: Taste of Fort Zumwalt, and the Fort Zumwalt Education Foundation Golf Tournament.

Taste of Fort Zumwalt began in the fall of 2006. Hosted at the Elks Lodge in O'Fallon, local restaurants and eateries were invited to participate in this annual event. For the price of admission, participants have an opportunity to taste the offerings of dozens of vendors. Visitors can eat their fill of an eclectic mix of foods, browse the many items available during the silent auction, try their luck in the 50/50 drawing, and vote for their favorite food.

In March 2008, the foundation launched its first annual golf tournament at Winghaven Country Club. Many foursomes turned out for this scramble-format tournament which included food, beverages, raffles, auctions and fun, all at an exclusive, private country club.

Events such as these provide opportunities for donating in a variety of ways. Volunteers are always needed for planning, coordinating, and facilitating the events. Promoting the events involves advertising in various media outlets. Sponsorship provides a great service and good exposure in the community. And donations of goods and services take many forms.
